The common faults of plastic coated steel wire ropes in use including broken wires, corrosion, corrosion, crushing, sharp turns, scattered strands, individual strand bulges, wear, etc. The most common faults are broken wires and corrosion. Because the wire at the pulley is repeatedly bent and straightened during the transmission, that is, it is often subjected to repeated loads, and it also slides relative to the pulley, so the wire at the pulley is most likely to break. Therefore, the maintenance work should focus on checking the above parts.

The most important way to check the broken wire of the rubber-coated wire rope is to wipe the wire rope with a clean, dry soft cloth without lint along the length of the wire rope and wipe it as quickly as possible, and check the place where the cloth is caught by the broken wire.
In general, if we see rust on the inside, it proves that our plastic coated steel wire rope has been completely damaged, and we will replace it in time. When we do not find any internal rust, we should clean up the external rust in time, so as to avoid affecting other parts from rusting. After removing the rust, we must carry out anti-rust protection to prevent it from being corroded again.
